Arna Asgrimsdottir is an Icelandic footballer who plays as a defender for the Scottish team Glasgow City and the Iceland national team. She had previously played for Valur and Thor/KA in Iceland and Kopparbergs/Goteborg FC in Sweden.
Arna Asgrimsdottir was born on August 12, 1992. In 2011, she became captain of Thor/KA and switched from playing in midfield to central defense. After guiding the club to their first-ever Urvalsdeild title in 2012, she was named Akureyri’s Athlete of the Year. Arna Asgrimsdottir joined Swedish Damallsvenskan club Kopparbergs/Goteborg FC in February 2015, after impressing in a short trial period. At 22-years-old she had played for Thor/KA for the previous eight seasons.
In November 2015, she returned to play in the Urvalsdeild when she signs a contract with Valur.
In 2020, she signed with Glasgow City to play in the Scotland SWPL 1.
